About the organization
From the personal experience of its founder, Jacqueline Faria, a movement for prevention and support for Black women affected by breast cancer was born in 2010 in Rio de Janeiro. Beyond physical health, the organization also focuses on self-esteem and the socio-economic reintegration of these women.
Organization’s objectives
Communication was created to support the organization’s main goal: reaching more women with information and awareness about the cause in Rio de Janeiro and throughout Brazil, focusing on its three pillars of action: health, self-esteem, and socio-economic reintegration.
Communication challenges
Create a communication plan structured by audiences, channels, and content
Reach out to community leaders in specific neighborhoods of Rio de Janeiro to support the expansion of local initiatives
Develop products that enable more direct communication with new beneficiaries
Establish a strategy to expand information and awareness about the cause throughout Brazil
Delivered materials
A communication plan structured by audiences, channels, and content
Identification and engagement with community leaders in Laranjeiras, Catete, and Lins de Vasconcelos to present the project and expand local support
Creation of a manifesto expressing the purpose of Mulheres de Peito e Cor
Development of posters (lambe) and printed materials (dial) with information about the cause for new communities
Redesign of the blog, including a publication schedule and content matrix, to foster national-level dialogue on breast cancer among Black women
Training to enable the organization to independently operate the communication plan

“The partnership with Instituto Repartir allowed us to start dreaming and envisioning many communication possibilities. The young women from Repartir are amazing.” (Jacqueline Faria)
